The 2026 Semiquincentennial President Donald J. Trump $1 is the first circulating U.S. coin to carry a sitting president’s portrait.

The last time a living president appeared on American coinage was Calvin Coolidge on the 1926 Sesquicentennial half dollar — a commemorative, not a circulating issue — exactly 100 years earlier.

This dollar was struck for the nation’s 250th anniversary: dual date 1776 ~ 2026 on the obverse, “250” on the Presidential Seal reverse.
